Dragonwheels – Guided Motorcycle tours of W a l e s
We guide small motorcycle tours exploring the beautiful countryside of Wales.
Motorcyclists have long been attracted to the treasure trove of Welsh roads, winding through unspoilt countryside. But the casual visitor can miss so much, many sites are off the beaten track, many main roads miss the essence of Wales. By taking the option of a guided motorcycle tour, we can ensure your precious time is dedicated to getting the best from your visit. http://www.dragonwheelstours.co.uk/

Short motorcycling breaks centred around weekends, and stay in the Brecon Beacons at our local pub with lovely food and a well assorted bar, Ashgrove Inn. You decide the aspects on which you would like to concentrate - Welsh history, general scenery, family roots, gardens, Castles, coast or mountains – there’s a tour to suit every taste.
Wherever you want to go, we’ll take you there by the most enjoyable biking roads, or put yourselves in our hands and let us decide for you. No maps or sat-nav required, just relax and follow the leader.
All our guided motorcycle tours are designed to take one full day, with plenty of stops to enjoy the scenery, see the attractions (and the pubs) and take it all in. We can stop as frequently as you like – and you dictate the pace.
For experienced motorcyclists, we can tour at a more enthusiastic rate, but this isn’t a sort of cannonball run! Welsh roads bite back – so we treat them with the respect the deserve. Plus, if you tear through the countryside, you’ll miss some of the best views in Europe.
If you’re new to motorbiking, we can accommodate that too, by pacing the tour to suit your comfort zone, hopefully giving you some riding tips along the way and sending you home a better and more confident rider.
DRAGONWHEELS and ASHGROVE INN is two separate companies. Our connection is that together we can offer dedicated bikers a unique experience. You start the day with a breakfast of your choice. Then you can cruise all day on your bike, on some of the best roads Wales has on offer, totally safe, and with local guides that will ensure everything runs smoothly and secure. We also have a back up service if things go wrong, so you will have no worries! When you come back to the Ashgrove Inn, you can have a couple of pints, and a little chat with fellow bikers from the area. They meet here in the late afternoon for a couple of pints of GUINNESS after their ride-outs. Then I suppose you want to go to your room, have a shower, and get ready for a delicious supper. A few more pints, some Malt whiskey(no worries about drink-driving), and then head for your bed? Does that sound ok? Then give us a ring on 01639 701155 or drop us a few lines on ashgroveinn@yahoo.co.uk to find out about availability. Remember:
You arrive as a guest, and leave as a friend!
How the tours work….
In a complicated world, having fun should be simple…so this is too..!
Tours are based on 2 nights stay, though you’re more than welcome to stay as long as you like!
Friday night is meet, greet and eat. We’ll do the intro’s get a feel for each other (steady on…) have a bit of grub and beer or three and tuck into bye bye’s nice and early like good children. At least that’s how it’s supposed to go…
Saturday is up and brekkied by 9.30, for a 10.00 start, we’ll already have agreed what you want to see, so we’ll get straight on with seeing it! There’ll be stops at least every hour to stretch, smoke, grab a cuppa and just generally chat and marvel at the view and gabber about the ride so far. We’ll find somewhere nice for lunch, and then carry on about our business at a gentler pace whilst the food settles. Punctuating the afternoon with some more stops, eventually we’ll realise we’re bloody miles away and everyone needs a pint and a hot shower, so we’ll head back to base.
After hot milk, biccies and an early night (optional, but don’t blame me, just bring nurofen) we’ll break your fast and be off around 9.30 on Sunday, this time for a shorter run, taking in some of the spectacular local scenery, have you back by 2.oo for Sunday lunch, then you can pack and head home, go back out on the road and stay the night, or just chill out with a couple of beers.
